Accessibility

Our commitment to accessibility

We are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information and services, and we work to provide a positive experience for users of all abilities.

Accessibility standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more user-friendly for all people.

Our website is built on Squarespace, a hosted website platform. While Squarespace provides many built-in accessibility features, some aspects of accessibility are dependent on the platform itself. We work within the tools available to us to make our content as accessible as possible.

Measures we take

We take the following steps to improve accessibility on our website:

  • Providing text alternatives for non-text content, including descriptive alt text for images

  • Using clear, descriptive headings and page structure to aid navigation

  • Ensuring sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds

  • Using plain, readable language throughout our content

  • Ensuring links are descriptive and indicate where they lead

  • Avoiding content that flashes or blinks in ways that could trigger seizures

  • Structuring content in a logical reading order

  • Working to ensure our site is navigable by keyboard as well as mouse

Platform limitations

Our website is hosted on Squarespace, which handles many foundational aspects of accessibility at the platform level. While we do our best to implement accessible practices within the content we control, some technical accessibility features are determined by Squarespace's underlying code and templates. We are not always able to modify these directly, but we actively advocate for accessibility improvements and choose templates and settings that best support accessible experiences.

Known limitations

While we strive to make our website as accessible as possible, there may be some areas that do not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are continuously working to identify and address these issues. If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site, please let us know so we can work to resolve it.

Third-party content

Our website may include embedded content or links to third-party websites and services (such as social media platforms, payment processors, or booking tools). We cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content, as it is outside our direct control. We encourage you to review the accessibility policies of any third-party services you use.

Ongoing efforts

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review our website content and design with accessibility in mind, and we update this policy as our practices evolve. We are committed to making incremental improvements over time and to staying informed about best practices in web accessibility.

Feedback & contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience any difficulties accessing content or using features of our site, or if you have suggestions for improvement, please contact us. We are committed to responding to accessibility feedback in a timely manner and to finding solutions that allow all visitors to access our content.
